To get an idea of what I will want to create for my final product I will have to research into previous games. To do this I used a website designed for simple flash games called www.kongregate.com, this website includes a lot of different types of games but the first type I will look into will be side scroll games.
The first game I looked at was a game called Tequila Zombie's (http://www.kongregate.com/games/IriySoft/tequila-zombies) which was a simple side scroll game where you had to shoot zombies coming at you from either side of the screen. A game like this would I would be interested in making as I feel there is a lot you can change to make it unique to what you want. A few ideas would be to possibly include the jumping aspect, and maybe you could move out of the area you are confined to, possibly have a sort of 'finish line' for the user to get to.
To get an idea of what games I liked the look of and would like to recreate, I looked at ten seperate games on the Kongregate website. I looked through all aspects of games and have decided that like side scroll games the best, there were a lot of games that were very 'Mario' like in the way they played and I enjoyed this. Now I just need to think of an original idea and how I'd like the game to be setup.

Game Design Software I Will Use
Firstly I had to decide a software that i will create my game on. During the design process module we have been learning how to use the software StencylWorks which is a very simple programme to use. Within this software there are plenty of examples of pre made games to give me ideas of what to make, and a lot of the games features are built in or easily downloaded within the application itself. Due to this and due to the fact I do not have a very in depth knowledge of code, I have decided to use this programme for the game I am designing.
This programme may also help me with time management as the simplicity of it should prevent time consumed fixing major errors.
